MPD wrote: “The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a traffic fatality that occurred on April 1, 2021 at approximately 3:15 pm in the 900 block of Kennedy Street NW. Anyone with information or video is asked to contact the Metropolitan Police Department at 202-727-9099.”

“The Fourth District is investigating an Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm and Destruction of Property that occurred on March 26, 2021, at approximately 5:30 p.m. in the 5400 block of Illinois Avenue NW. The suspects are described as two black males 20-30 years old who fled in a grey SUV South on Illinois Avenue NW. Anyone with information or video is asked to contact the Metropolitan Police Department at 202-727-9099.”

“Dear PoPville,

On my way to work this morning, as I was attempting to clean my windshield …I turn on my wipers and realized someone removed my wiper blades.

As I continued driving to work my fuel cap indicator began to blink on my console. I pulled over thinking I needed to tighten up my fuel cap, and realized that was gone.

It would appear individuals are removing car parts from vehicles at night.

The only positive outcome is that the thieves did not vandalize my car!”

A reader first reported: “About a dozen shots fired towards Kennedy and 5th at 5am. Now the chopper is circling.”

I live up in Brightwood Park and last week we had DC Water come dig up and repair a major water main under the street right in front of our house. Since then, both my house and my neighbor’s house has experienced significant internal cracking on our interior front walls and shared rowhouse wall. Any community advice about how to best navigate this?“
