Yo!! Oh my goodness. I was lucky enough to catch one of Hi Fi‘s owners, Tyler (super cool guy, totally unpretentious, very very promising for this joint), on my Saturday walkabout and he invited me in for a little tour and chat. All I can say is that the Gods are kind once again because this place sounds absolutely awesome. If all goes well they should be soft opening on Wednesday (will update if any of that changes.) It took a really long time to build this restaurant at the corner of 18th and California NW, and the restaurant lasted only a very short while. I had one meal there that I thought was pretty poor but didn’t get a chance to give them a second change before they closed. It’s an interesting space architecturally with lots of outside seating in front and in the back, and it should be a natural.
