From Mintwood Place in Adams Morgan.

Update from OP:

We found our time machine with all the baby pictures…in our house on the 4th floor, under a table, where the Verizon guy had moved it when he was here in the summer. We felt lucky it was that hidden, as the thief only took Macs, leaving available PC laptops behind.

The story is here.

(I feel foolish believing it was stolen and then finding it, but I’m more thankful than embarrassed., but in a very thankful way.)”

“The construction crew at the new condo building being built on Champlain Street in Adams Morgan hoisted a Christmas tree onto penthouse terrace last week. The building must have been recently wired, as they added lights to the tree yesterday. This is just down the block from the new Marriott hotel construction pit.”

From MPD:

“Today, at approximately 9:12 AM, a suspect entered the Wells Fargo Bank, in the 3300 block of 14th Street, NW and attempted to rob it. The teller refused to hand over any cash, and the suspect fled. Members of the Third District responded and a lookout was broadcast for the suspect. Numerous patrol units began to canvass the area for the suspect.

At approximately 9:25 AM, the MPD received a call for a bank robbery at the PNC Bank in the 1700 block of Columbia Road, NW. The suspect in that robbery matched the same description as in the previous attempted robbery on 14th Street. Members of the Third District responded and confirmed the robbery, and the scope of the canvass for the suspect was expanded.

During the canvass, a subject was sighted that matched the description of the bank robber in the area of Perry Place and Spring Road, NW. As a result of the subsequent investigation the suspect was arrested for both offenses.

Anyone who may have witnessed this offense, or who may be familiar with the suspect, may contact the MPD’s Command Information Center at 202-727-9099.”

From an email:

“Ocelot! Ocelot! Where have you gone? To The Black Squirrel this Friday, December 11th, for an epic Ocelot Brewing Co. Phish Phry, of course.

Haven’t quite made the connection yet? The local Sterling, Va., brewery’s name pays homage to one of the great jam-bands, Phish. More specifically, Ocelot is the name of a Phish song and the logo is in the shape of a guitar pick.

Phish-heads may recognize the names of their beers as song lyrics, but to the rest of us, they are just really tasty suds. Some of the beers on tap for this event are: (more…)
