“We’re excited to invite everyone to join us at an Adams Morgan Day [taking place Sept. 11 from noon to 6pm] benefit concert at Songbyrd Music House and Record Café on Wednesday, August 10 at 7:30 pm ($10 suggested donation at the door); and a fundraising happy hour at Jug & Table/Roofers Union on Tuesday, August 30. Both fun AdMo venues are located on 18th Street NW, just south of Columbia Road.”

“Dear PoPville,
A backpack was stolen from my car in Adams Morgan Monday between 115-2pm. The owner is in the military and the backpack contained military awards, passport, birth certificate, checkbook, laptop, medical records..everything! He is so devastated. This was a black, large North Face backpack stuffed and heavy. We assume someone took the laptop and threw the backpack in a dumpster or bushes. The incident occurred in the 2300 block of Champlain St, NW.
Could residents, dog walkers, runners, etc in Adams Morgan please keep an eye out for a black backpack thrown to the side of the streets?

Back in June we heard some scuttlebutt that “Cucina Al Volo set to replace Pasta Mia” but there’s no info on their twitter or facebook and their website is not active. So not clear if they’re still planning on taking over the space (or taking the Pasta Mia name?) or someone else is coming but one thing’s for sure – we’ll know by August 12th!

Thanks to all who sent word about Yamas’ Adams Morgan location, which opened in January 2016. After Shawarma Spot’s roller coaster of openings and closings I thought we were finally gonna get some stability here. Who knows maybe the papered windows is just for a decor refresh…
2318 18th Street NW upstairs
Back in March we learned:
“Insomnia Cookies has officially signed its first lease in Washington D.C. after years of looking for a location. The D.C. storefront is set to begin delivering warm, delicious cookies to the capital city this summer. The new location at 2318 18th Street NW in Adams Morgan will open to serve retail customers daily from 11 a.m. until 3 a.m. and will begin delivery from noon until 3am.”
They were originally hoping to open this summer but it looks like, like Nando’s, Fall might be more realistic. Stay tuned.

August 1st is not only the day when we first received the key to our door to Germany here at 1654 Columbia Rd. four years ago; it is also going to be the day we will be returning it as this location will be closed down on August 1st
We are grateful for all your support and use of our beloved AdMo living room throughout Sunday, July 31st.
We appreciate all your loyalty, open mindedness towards our modern/Northern German craziness, your friendship, relationship, story exchanges, constructive criticism which has made us stronger and better at what we do; and your support in general throughout the good times as well as the bad ones.
