“Dear PoPville,

A woman in my building (The Argonne, 1629 Columbia Rd NW), Ginger, lost everything this weekend when her sweet bulldog, Chacha, managed to trip a burner on her stove while trying to get trash on the counter. Chacha died in the fire, and all of Gingers stuff is completely gone. I didn’t know Ginger well, but almost everyone in our building knew her puppy since she would literally stop walking when she saw someone in our lobby and wait until they petted her.

I can’t imagine losing all your stuff AND your pet. To help her, some friends of hers have set up a go fund me page here.”

So, in years past some folks have been outraged whenever anyone used AdMo for Adams Morgan. Have things changed in 2018 – is AdMo now a legit abbreviation? How ’bout CoHi for Columbia Heights? To the polls!!

I can’t believe I forgot to mention this when we spoke about the “death waiting to happen”.

AdMo Heights’ website says:

“Brand new Adams Morgan apartments opening SUMMER 2018!

Thanks to Liz for sending:

“Walked by the 7/11 on Columbia Rd and noticed this. I wondered if it’s actually closed for remodeling or “closed for remodeling.” It could certainly use a refresh so this may be legit but thought I’d point it out. Taxi drivers will revolt if this 7/11 closes!”

“Dear PoPville,

As seen on 18th and Columbia Road, NW.

You’ll notice that the covered pathway on the sidewalk below is…well…not fully covered. I don’t know what they had to gain from taking out the middle section (which, up until a few weeks ago, was there for months and months). It’s terrifying to walk under and such a hazard!”
