Well happy Friday to us all after all!! I’m told that the Popal Group (owners of fellow Adams Morgan hot spots Lapis and the recently opened – Maison Bar à Vin) bought the building most recently home to The Jerk Pit (et al). Word on the street is that they plan to put The Berliner there. (more…)

I wanted to pass on to you that the Starbucks in Adams Morgan is closing as of Sunday. It’s a giant loss for the neighborhood – while it’s true that there’s no shortage of coffee shops in Adams Morgan, the staff that works there is truly fantastic. And worst of all, the partners only learned the news yesterday (and from a customer no less) that the store would be shuttered and their jobs are gone by the end of the week. We asked if they’d be moved to a different location, and they said they weren’t sure – but as the stores at 16th & U and Howard (!) are also both closing, they’re not optimistic. (more…)

“The Metropolitan Police Department is seeking a suspect in a Leaving After Colliding offense that occurred in Northwest.
On Monday, September 22, 2025, at approximately 7:00 p.m., the suspect was operating a bicycle and struck a pedestrian in the 1700 block of Columbia Road, Northwest. The suspect then fled without stopping to make his identity known. Officers located the adult female pedestrian unconscious but breathing. (more…)
