“Dear PoPville,

I wanted to give a shout out and HUGE thank you to the young woman who helped me rescue a stray kitten that was hit by a car on Wednesday night around 14th and Shepherd St NW!

I was walking my friend’s dog and she happened to be going by on her bike, when all of a sudden (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

Free2Move and I broke up at long last. They even threw me back into the arms of my ridiculous ex, Zipcar. I hadn’t used Zipcar in close to two years because of its limitations. You have to reserve for a specific amount of time and return on time or face a fine. Worse, you can’t just park it wherever you wish, but return it where you got it. Those were dealbreakers back when Free2Move and I decided to date each other exclusively.

“Dear PoPville,

I live in a building that backs into an alley with a community garden with a MAJOR rat problem. The garden has a big compost container and also has a large shed where they store gardening equipment. The area under the shed seems to serve as a very hospitable rat burrow, as just walking by it at night I’ll see several rats scurrying from residential trash cans back under it. “Dear PoPville,

I haven’t seen a post in the forum recently (years maybe?) about how/where to buy a used car in DC, especially since the used car market changed so much during Covid. My wife and I are looking to buy our first (used) car since 2008 and we are fish out of water. Would love to get some tips from the community.”

“Dear PoPville,

I was wondering if people had thoughts on a DC jeweler for general cleaning of engagement rings, inspection for issues and small repairs like tightening the posts on the setting. We’ve been here a long time and still can’t find a jeweler that takes less than a month for a general cleaning/inspection. Worse is that most shops don’t seem to want to take minor repairs on something they didn’t sell.”
