I’m trying to help a friend who has fallen on hard times with alcoholism, which has spiraled into mental health issues and homelessness.

I am trying to navigate the labyrinth of bureaucratic cluster, so that he can get wrap around services (mental and physical health services and access to SSI) as well as housing. Specifically,

So Others May Eat provides housing but no wraparound services. Hillcrest provides wraparound services but no housing.

I’ve going crazy trying to find a workable solution. And one wonders why homelessness is such an entrenched problem in the city!
