“Dear PoPville,

I have a HUGE disposable mask surplus. Like I have maybe 500 or so. A relative keeps sending them to us but we definitely do not need this many. They are mostly KF94s, all sealed in packaging. Are any places still taking mask donations?”

“Dear PoPville,

My friend had just broke up with her boyfriend of 4+ years, on top of a pandemic, on top of it being Father’s Day – and she lost her dad in her 20s very unexpectedly.

It’s not the most stable weekend to return to society. But we went out, and not surprisingly at Le Diplomat she needed to step outside while I cancelled our order and closed our drink bill. I ushered my friend outside and told her I would take care of the logistics. When things were settled and I called her she was not at the corner and I began to circle the restaurant. Ty asks Sunday: “anyone know the source of the exploding noises in NE DC? Been going on all day. Fireworks?”

This is a relatively new/not so new phenomena that has been the last few springs through August. We’ve never been able to pin down what exactly the new explosive/firework is called but rest assured it will continue to be heard throughout the District for a few more months to come.

Ed. Note: Occasionally there will be/could be a transformer blown which also causes a loud explosion but this is different.

Thanks to Jordan for sending yesterday: “Not affiliated with the real company. Trying to pass off as the real thing.

Anyone actually try it?

From Dalton: “I can 1000% confirm that it is not real In-N-Out. Not sure how they haven’t gotten busted for false advertising yet. My wife and I ate it this past Sunday and that’s the first time we’ve seen the truck- we aren’t down by the mall too often though. Their advertising signs are pretty legit and they also claim to have animal fries…”

“Dear PoPville,

I’ve put off finding an OB/GYN in the city just for annual check-ups, etc., for too long, and would love recommendations, preferably someone centrally located or Metro-accessible. Bonus if they are in network with Cigna!”

“Dear PoPville,

Had a missed connection on Sunday, June 13 at a bar on 14th Street in Logan Circle:

Him: brown hair, dark glasses, sitting at the bar
Me: dark blonde hair, white shirt, long brown skirt

Asked me about sneaking in outside food when my date stepped away; (more…)
