“Dear PoPville,

Our landlord has provided notice that she would like to sell the row house where we’re currently on a month-to-month lease. I’m aware that we have the right of first refusal when it comes to purchasing the property at a fair price. We provided a response this week that we will not be purchasing the property. (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

I’m hoping the community may be able to help find two items- my grandfather’s high school class ring and my grandmother’s phi beta kappa key, which were both stolen along with a few other sentimental items like an old golf tee and a dog tag when my home was recently burglarized. I realize it’s a very slim chance, but given the personal value to me, I want to try any/all avenues. (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

There’s no nice way to say this, but there’s a slumlord on my block. They own an apartment building that is abandoned and have spent about a year doing illegal construction without permits but never really getting anything done. It doesn’t matter how many times DCRA issues a stop work orders or how many thousands of dollars fines they rack up, because nothing ever changes. (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

I wanted to share and hopefully you can share this with the community, but I was recently groped by a man in a wheelchair on the corner of 14th st and Fairmont st. Apparently, he has been doing this to females in the last few days around the area. Please warn others.”

We first met while trying to find the exit of the airport after they closed nearly every exit down. I was exhausted and zooming down the halls just trying to get out of there. He was too and we kept running into each other attempting to exit. We had a few laughs at that. (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

I wanted to flag for our community’s attention that with the summer season coming up, there are scary sophisticated scammers to look out for. I almost fell victim to one. My partner and I have been looking for rowhouses in DC and came across a beautiful one in the Adams Morgan neighborhood on Seaton Street NW. The pictures were real (corroborated by Zillow), the utilities were included, and the price was just right to convince us this was a great opportunity to jump on. (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

I saw this sign across from my building at M & North Capitol. Of course i had my dog pee on the lamppost.

But is it legal to forbid someone from walking their dogs on a public sidewalk?
