“Dear PoPville,
With prom season coming up, can anyone suggest organizations that are collecting prom dresses for DC students?”

“Dear PoPville,
I have an indoor/outdoor cat (I’ll call him Fluffy). He’s formerly feral (in fact, my property used to be his territory, which is how I ended up with him) and he sticks to my decent sized property. Lately another cat (I’ll call him Tigger) has been hanging around and fighting with Fluffy. This is the second time I’ve had to take Fluffy to the vet for rear-end wound care, which means he’s turning and running. I’ve tried to let Tigger’s Mom know that Tiger is attacking Fluffy, but she’s ignoring my texts.
What do I do? I’d love a few bucks pitched in to help with vet bills, but I’d much prefer that Tigger is kept indoors. I know that’s tough, and I could keep Fluffy indoors myself (also tough considering his feral origins), but surely there’s some compromise we can come to if only Tigger’s Mom showed some willingness to come to the table?”

“Dear PoPville,
With Spring here I was scouring the site for thrift shops but couldn’t find anything recent about different places to check out. Specifically looking for men’s clothing. Maybe the community can help?”

“Dear PoPville,
I’m an adult who can’t drive and needs to learn how. Can you ask the crowd what the best driving school in the city is? Looking for one that’s safe and thorough and can pick me up!”

“Dear PoPville,
I am in need of a new upholstered chair for my living room. I have looked in many places (West Elm, Crate and Barrel, CB2, LazyBoy, Room and Board, and some others I can’t remember), but can’t find anything I want, mainly because the upholstery choices are so limited. (more…)

“Dear PoPville,
Wanted to share and ask for help on who to make a complaint to. Was leaving to head to work this morning when I found DC Parking putting a boot on my car as well as several others. Thinking they made a mistake because my tickets were being contested, they informed me that they had the correct plate number. (more…)

Mandy asks: “Ok friends. Countdown has begun. What goes on the DC bucket list before I move to NC?? What say you @PoPville and community? Over a dozen years here I’ve done a lot but what is a MUST DO?! Ready, go.”
Ed. Note: The magnificent variety and breadth of the recs below is a good reminder that we take a lot for granted and are lucky to live in one of the greatest places on earth. A bit corny to write but straight up truth.
The early replies: (more…)

“Dear PoPville,
I had a question that I thoughts your readers might know. Have the flights paths for DCA recently changed? I have lived in DC a long time and in my current house in SW for 6 years, and a few months ago I staring noticing that several times a day commercial fights were taking offing and heading right over my house, most in a Northeast direction. “Dear PoPville,
I’m curious to hear what your subjects know about the overhaul of Harvard Hall at 1650 Harvard St. NW. This is a massive apartment building that takes up most of the block. I live nearby on Harvard and the project has had a big impact on the neighborhood. (more…)

“Dear PoPville,
Searched the archives and apparently no one has ever asked for recommendations for a place to do carpet removal/installation! Any suggestions? I got a quote from one place (in Bethesda), but they want to charge $3000 to remove and replace carpet in a 10’x10′ bedroom, which seems exorbitant to me! Guidance from the PoPville community would be much appreciated.”
