I had the juiciest, most flavorful dumplings from a food truck named Himalayan Soul Foods at the Asia Fiesta food festival in DC last weekend. These dumplings are called momos and they are eaten in Nepal and Tibet. One distinctive feature of these momos is that they have a tasty tomato sauce to go along with them. I can’t believe it was the first time I’ve heard of them. I was wondering if anyone knows of any restaurants that serve momos in DC/ VA? I’m a fan!”

“Dear PoPville,
an incident that occurred just before/around 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at Rhode Island Avenue Metro. My nanny’s father was crossing the street and was struck by a motorcycle in the crosswalk. The motorcyclist got off his bike, helped my nanny’s father up and then took off. My nanny’s father sustained some injuries. I am looking for any eyewitnesses to the incident or camera/video footage of the incident.”

I think the monkeypox vaccine effort deserves more credit. I just got my first dose today (Georgia Ave location) and the entire staff from security to nurses were so kind and welcoming, and all the forms are very inclusive and non judgmental.
I know there are concerns about the number of doses, but what is within D.C.’s control makes me very proud to live here.”

I was walking in the Union Market area today (Sunday, July 24, high temperature of 98 degrees) and came across 2 businesses with propped doors and AC blasting. So I decided to go in and talk to them. I started off by saying how much I enjoy all the businesses in the area and root for their success. I then asked them if they would consider closing their door while the AC is running. (more…)

Can you help me find anyone who may have info about my mother in laws hit and run which happened, Saturday (7/23), around noon. We’re hoping to find someone that saw the vehicle or would have doorbell cam footage of the car going past their house.
She was walking through the intersection at North Carolina and 8th St SE when someone ran a red light, hit her, and sped off. It happened around 11:45am-12pm. (more…)

I am working on a book about my grandfather, Ed Epping. He was part of a large scandal in Ilinois in the 50’s. He has an FBI file. I asked the FBI for the files 20 months ago. They told me it would be 39 months to get to my request. I recently asked and they said they don’t really know when they can get me the files. (more…)
