I am working on a book about my grandfather, Ed Epping. He was part of a large scandal in Ilinois in the 50’s. He has an FBI file. I asked the FBI for the files 20 months ago. They told me it would be 39 months to get to my request. I recently asked and they said they don’t really know when they can get me the files.
Excerpt from my work in progress.
I know my grandfather was connected and I know the FBI used the pretext of “changing the water meter” to search my grandparent’s home. (The agent reported the basement was beautiful, which would have pleased my grandmother greatly!)
Do any readers have any ideas for me? I contacted Rep. Norton and the office said they cannot help me.
