“Dear PoPville,

Everyone knows that DC can be a very expensive place to live, I myself am trying to cut back on spending too much and too frequently on fun things to do. I asked my friends if they could come up with at least 2 fun activities, not including a museum, to do without spending more than $20. (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

I’ve lived in this neighborhood for years and never noticed this patriarchal, “traditional” family values sign/sign duo at 10th and O NW – seems like a great opportunity for artful alteration.” (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

The guy mentioned in this article from 2021 was staring into our house today (Friday, Nov. 18.)

We recently got our windows switched out and don’t have blinds on them all now. We are the end unit but have several vacants along the alley so typically are not worried about people looking into our house. “Dear PoPville,

I live in an older building in DC and I had a leak come through my bathroom. I’ve been without running water or a bathroom since 8:30 PM (Saturday.) The plumber is here and has torn out the ceiling.

I’m wondering what my rights are? I don’t feel comfortable staying here. Just without running water, bathroom .. and who knows what’s in the ceiling.”

“Dear PoPville,

I’m looking for a dry cleaner, alterations shop or other location that will dye my wedding dress. I was hoping to be able to dye it black or another color so I can wear it to other events but I would prefer to leave it to a professional instead of trying myself. I already talked to Bessons on 14th and Parkway which are my go to places and neither of them offer the service. Any recommendations are appreciated!”

“Dear PoPville,

I wanted to write about a scary incident my friend and I had in Dupont around 7:00 pm last night. We were standing at a crosswalk waiting for the light in front of the circle, and a man approached us. He got very close to me and I assumed he was going to ask for money when he instead hunched down and said in a high-pitched voice, “Hi I’m Elmo” which he repeated a few times. (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

Writing with an update on the Francis Field situation. The gates enclosing the field have been removed (picture shows side gate; all three are like this). This comes on the heels of increased enforcement of the DC leash laws. (more…)
