Help us solve a Shaw neighborhood mystery: there’s been an incessant buzzing sound around the intersection of 7th and S St NW for weeks now. It sounds like a swarm of cicadas but is constant day/night & can be heard in a several-block radius. What is it?!”
Others responded: “There’s a new, different unknown noise that started today a bit further south. (I’m on 13 and N). It’s a high pitched whine that cycles on and off. It’s so loud I can hear it thru double paned windows.”
