“Friends, it is with mixed emotion that we share this with you! Like millions, we have been struggling for over a year now to keep our DOORS OPEN, while operating 20/30% of our normal capacity and Income. We have done a good job following all the COVID rules to the “T.” AFTER ALL THAT, we were not successful in negotiating a new LEASE. So, like many long-time businesses in Woodley Park, we are forced to close the doors of Salon Roi after 52 years in the same Building.

So, June 30th, we will be leaving Our MARILYN MURAL behind, as we all pack our styling carts and head to SALON ROI (#2) (more…)

Back in September 2020 we reported that Baskin Robbins had closed above the former Mr. Chen’s space and coming Gourmand space. At the moment not clear how many flavors there will be at the smoke shop. Some of the neighbors will not be pleased. Stay tuned.

“Beginning May 1st, the indoor capacity limit for non-essential retail businesses is raised from 25% to 50% or 250 people, whichever is lower.”
From the Mayor’s Situational Update yesterday.

“The number of people who can sit together at a restaurant table is increased from 6 people to 10 people. Live music will be allowed outdoors for summer gardens, courtyard dining and sidewalk cafes controlled by the restaurants.” (more…)
