I recently opened a small gifts shop on the 1500 block of U ST NW called Queertown (1520 U ST NW, in the previous Big Planet Comics space), which offers merchandise specifically curated for the LGBTQ+ community and its allies. Speaking of Cannabis Operations… Three more, two excellently named ones, closed by MPD and ABCA:
“Last week, the Alcoholic Beverage and Cannabis Administration (ABCA) and the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) shut down three businesses for illegal cannabis sales.
The Closure Orders were executed at Puff Puff Pass, Smoke Shop Inc, and YouGrowGurl, all unlicensed retailers, due to activities that posed an imminent danger to public health and safety.

Saks Off 5th opened here in 2016. Previously the space was home to, the legendary, ESPN Zone.
USA Today reported: “Saks Off 5th, the discount retailer of its sister store Saks Fifth Avenue, is closing nine stores across the United States.”
I stopped in to ask when and was told “sometime in January.”
