Yesterday when we spoke about the on again, off again Rays Hell Burger Too spot a couple readers mentioned they saw some action at the former Kushi space that closed in Sept. 2014. Yesterday the Washington Business Journal found out who is coming:

“The chef [Michael Schlow, Tico and the Riggsby] has signed a lease for the 4,000-square-foot space, according to sources familiar with the deal.”

Updates as he gets closer to opening and more details are revealed.

I keep forgetting to post about this one – the liquor license placard says:

“New restaurant serving American food. Total Occupancy Load is 99.”

Kraze Burgers closed back in March 2014. Neighborhood Restaurant Group is the parent of Birch and Barley, Churchkey, Iron Gate, Red Apron, The Partisan, GBD and many others. Big score for Barracks Row – updates when they get closer to opening.

From an email:

“We just wanted to let you know that IMM Thai on H is now offering delivery to Capitol Hill, NOMA, Trinidad, Carver, and the rest of the neighboring area. We’re really excited to be able to provide this service as the options for great Thai food have been so limited up until now. We accept orders through Grubhub, Seamless or over the phone!

You can find the menu here.”

“A veggie-centric diner, bakery, takeaway lunch counter and bar on Washington D.C.’s H Street corridor.”

and their website says:

Fall 2015
Veggie Centric Comfort Food

Stay tuned!

The rumored fried chicken spot is going to be Small Fry. The Post’s Express with some details:

“The restaurant, Small Fry, will be a “nontraditional smokehouse and fry shop,” Bagheri told Express in an email.”

Ed. Note: Back in December ’14 we learned a new spot called Union Drinkery would be coming to this space too. Not sure if it’s affiliated with Small Fry but we’ll update in a couple weeks when they get closer to opening.
