“Folger Shakespeare Library crowdsourcing to name new café”

“When the Folger Shakespeare Library reopens on June 21, we’ll have a brand-new café in our Great Hall. We will offer grab and go breakfast options, coffee, tea, soups and sandwiches, snacks to eat in the garden, and drinks and light dinner fare in the evenings. And while we work on putting the finishing touches on our new dining space, we need your help!

“Capitol Hill Pete’s Diner Cat Missing”

“Dear PoPville,

I was walking around Capitol Hill earlier and noticed a sign that Xing Xing, the indoor/outdoor black cat that hangs out at Pete’s Diner, owned by PD’s owner Gum, is missing! This cat is a Capitol Hill institution.”

Update: “Just spoke with the staff they open at 4 today.”

Update from a twitter reply: “Walked by yesterday and looked like there was construction/painting going on inside. So I’d expect it’s temporary.”

Another Update: “From a 1/29 email: “Ghostburger is offline this week to add a bit of polish in our dining room. Don’t worry though, while we are hard at work in Shaw, you can still order (Delivery / Pickup) your favorite Burgers, Fries, and Wings from our sister restaurant”
