Just wanted to give a warning to the community— streets market in Adams morgan on Columbia road has a credit card skimmer issue. My card info was skimmed there last Thursday, my brother had a similar issues at the same store several months ago. I just spoke to the manager who was very receptive to the info and was going back to check their video cameras. (more…)

“Dear PoPville,
My close friends and several family members were all walking from my apt on H ST NE, north towards Union Market, to cap off a great weekend of celebrating my doctoral graduation. Sadly, as we were about to cross Florida Ave, these 2 or 3 teens with a gun robbed two in my large group of their belongings. This is ridiculous to say the least that these teens did it in broad daylight, in front of children and several homeowners just enjoying their front lawn. 1:00 PM on a sunny Sunday. (more…)

“Mayor Muriel Bowser announced that she has named Ashan M. Benedict as the interim Chief of Police at the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD). Chief Benedict has served as the Executive Assistant Chief of Police at MPD since April 2021 when he was appointed by Chief Contee.
