“And as the opening ceremonies of the 2023 Columbia Heights summer games conclude, I declare summer has begun!!”

“Dear PoPville,

Speaking of car excitement in Columbia Heights… Did anybody tell you about the car chase Sunday between 13th and Monroe and the fire station on 14th?

What had happened was, I was standing on the corner when a minivan pulled into the crosswalk in front of Monroe Street, blocking traffic. the two ladies jumped out of the minivan, ran down monroe street towards the coupe, and started beating on another car, three or four cars back.

One thing led to another… And before you knew it, one of the ladies was on the hood of the car, straight up TJ Hooker style, holding onto the wiper, with the car racing down Monroe towards 14th St.

More car chase involving the original minivan, followed by yet another minivan that came out of nowhere, all going down Monroe. eventually sirens, ambulances and the police, as the whole thing came to an end right in front of the fire station.

And as the opening ceremonies of the 2023 Columbia Heights summer games conclude, I declare summer has begun!!”

We’re about a month out from summer. That means you’ve still got time for spring cleaning!

Lexi Grant, an operations manager at Well-Paid Maids, shared her go-to spring cleaning tips with WTOP News. Step one? Declutter. Get rid of items you don’t use, find space for items that need a home and organize those areas.

Then, it’s time to dust. Lexi starts with high-touch surface areas (think: refrigerator, dishwasher, counters, microwave). One area she sees often neglected is the bedroom — and it makes sense. Heavy furniture is difficult to move around, but it’s important to really get in there so dust doesn’t affect your sleep.
