On Saturday, September 24, Blake was senselessly killed while at a bar in Washington DC celebrating his friend’s birthday.

Blake was many things to many people and played a pivotal role in the lives of everyone he met. He was a star athlete at Morgan State, a dedicated member of his community where he volunteered his time, and an award-winning Realtor who helped a number of people reach their goals of homeownership. Two armed men stole our dog Duke in an attempted carjacking on Friday 9/22 at 9PM. We are so devastated and worried for him.

Duke was with our dog sitter while we were traveling for our belated honeymoon (postponed during Covid). She was driving him home to us in Hill East when she had to pull over in southern Oxon Hill MD to adjust her GPS. Two armed men approached her car, got into the back door, and took Duke. She is very shaken but thankfully was unharmed. Duke has not been seen since.

MPD’s “New H Street Unit Arrests Serial Package Thief”

“Officers from the Metropolitan Police Department’s New H Street Bike Unit arrested a man for stealing multiple packages on Saturday, September 16, 2023, in the 600 block of G Street, Northeast.

At approximately 2:17 p.m., officers of the First District’s new H Street Unit were actively patrolling the H Street corridor when they were flagged down for a theft in progress. They learned that a suspect had stolen multiple packages in the 600 block of G Street, Northeast, before fleeing. (more…)
