Rachael first reported: “Just heard three or four gunshots around 10pm at 14th and Columbia.”

“Alert: Shooting at 2204 hrs in the 1300 block of Columbia Road, NW. No Lookout”

Ed. Note: Regarding the earlier shots fired at 14th and Harvard, MPD provided the following update:

“Good evening. We are continuing our investigation into the incident earlier this evening. We encourage anyone with videos to contact us at 202-727-9099.

As an update, while canvassing the area for victims and/or suspects, members of our Crime Suppression Team stopped a juvenile male in the 1300 block of Irving Street NW. The male was in possession of narcotics and a loaded 9mm handgun. (more…)

Shots Fired around 4pm in Columbia Heights

“The Third District is currently investigating the sounds of gunshots at the intersection of 14th St. and Harvard St., Northwest. Units on the scene have recovered shell casings and observed at least two vehicles with what appears to be gunshot damage. However at this time, we do not have any shooting victims. We are continuing to investigate.

Motors and pedestrians can expect road closures in the area.

“The First District is currently investigating an assault that occurred at approximately 3:30 am in the 100 block of K Street SE. The complainant got into a dispute with a group of individuals, ultimately leading to the complainant being assaulted. Anyone that may have seen anything or may have any information about this case please contact the First District Detectives Office at 202-299-2025 or the Command Information Center at 202-727-9099 and reference case # 19083798. Armed Carjacking in Eckington Last Night

“On 5/16/2019, at approximately 12:35 AM, an officer from the Fifth District was flagged down by a complainant reporting that they had just been carjacked. After interviewing the complainant, the officers learned that the complainant was parked in the 300 block of S Street, NE, when he was approached by five suspects. One of the suspects produced what the complainant believed to be a handgun, and ordered the complainant out of the car. The complainant then exited the vehicle and began to run away. (more…)

“This evening at approximately 6:40 p.m., officers from the First District responded to the 1500 block of 1st Street SW for the report of possible shots being fired. “On 5/12/19 at approximately 4:20pm a citizen was walking in the 900 block of First Street NW, when he was approached by an unknown subject. That subject stabbed the individual in the leg without provocation and fled the scene. A lookout was broadcast over the police radio and moments later members of the First District Crime Suppression Team stopped a subject matching the description given. The victim positively identified the subject as the person who stabbed him. The subject was placed under arrest without further incident.”

“Alert: Shooting at 0303 hrs in the 3500 block of Georgia Ave, NW. Lookout is for a green Chevy Tahoe occupied by (4) individuals, S-1 light complexion with dread locks. The vehicle was last seen heading southbound on Georgia Ave, NW.”
