Kim and others reported around 5:45am: “huge police response at corner of RIA and Eastern Ave in NE DC. Easily 40 emergency vehicles w helicopter circling overhead. Any idea what this is?”
Katie reports: “Carjacking in Fort Totten that ended up on a chase through DC and into MD. 3 out of the 4 suspects were caught in Mount Rainier. Apparently Rhode Island Avenue was/is closed for continued investigation (a DC police cruiser crashed during the chase)” (more…)

“At about 7:20 PM, just north of the Greenleaf Recreation Center, an adult male Victim was walking when a Suspect approached with a handgun and fired numerous rounds at the Victim. The Victim sustained several wounds that do not appear to be life-threatening. We are still actively working this scene and will release additional information as it becomes available.
The First District’s detectives office is investigating the above matter. Anyone with any pertinent information is asked to call the Tip-Line at 202-727-9099.”

I had a package delivered to my apt near 3rd and Rhode Island in Shaw with some family heirlooms in it. Unfortunately it was stolen off the front porch before I had a chance to grab it. In it were 3 Japanese Kokeshi dolls amongst some other items like clothes and food. Thanks for your help.”
