Brian Johnson via GoFundMe

The GoFundMe says:

“Brian was involved in a heartbreaking car accident on Easter Sunday in which he lost his life.He was a strong and caring brother with a big booming voice, loving partner to Myracle, and proud and dedicated father. The sudden loss has rocked his family to the core. He left behind his son and pregnant partner.

We are hoping that through the generosity of family and friends we can lessen the financial burden of this tragedy. A donation big or small will make a difference and also would be greatly appreciated.”

“Dear PoPville,

…And do they wanna go on a date with me?

Maybe it’s just because it’s the pandemic and I’m home all the time, but it feels like the year of the helicopter. I’ve watched the same Air Force one pass over my apartment like, 4 times in the last hour while I’ve been working on my deck. I waved and I really want to know if the pilots can see us! (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

I have lived in DC for 9 years and Columbia Heights for 6 years, and I love the community we have. I need your help identifying a sexual predator I was surprised to find on my (basement level) patio last night, at approximately 11:40pm. This transpired in the alley between Holmead and 13th St NW, between Otis and Monroe.

I looked out my bedroom window to notice the motion light had been activated, and when I looked more closely I saw a man with no pants on, (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

Stopped by Donut Run this morning and saw that someone broke their window. Their Instagram says that someone also stole their BLM flag which was prominently displayed, which they are asking to be returned to them.

Not sure who would do something so horrible to a really well-loved local business in the community. Wishing them well as they clean up and recover and also will definitely stop by for donuts first thing when they reopen!”

Thanks to all who passed this sad post from Donutrun’s IG:

“CLOSED FRIDAY, APRIL 2⠀

Someone really wanted donuts this morning! We are closed today to clean up our shop. ⠀

P. S. To whoever took our Black Lives Matter flag, please bring it back. We’ll gladly make you your own one.”

Let’s show them some love when they reopen!! “7am – 2pm” (more…)
