7 Year Old Shot 6:58pm Last Night in the 3500 block of Jay Street, NE. Two Men Shot Earlier at 5:08 pm in the 1500 block of C Street NE

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch, Special Victims Unit seek the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a vehicle of interest in reference to an Assault with Intent to Kill (Gun) offense that occurred on Saturday, May 1, 2021, in the 3500 block of Jay Street, Northeast.

At approximately 6:58 pm, Sixth District members received a call for the report of a shooting at the listed location. When units arrived, they located a juvenile female victim suffering from a gunshot wound. [Ed. Note: The Post reported she is 7 years old and was “was riding a scooter in a courtyard”.]DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

Anyone who can identify this vehicle, or has knowledge of this incident should take no action but call police at (202) 727-9099 or text your tip to the Department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for a violent crime committed in the District of Columbia.”

“On 5/1/21 at approximately 5:08 pm. First District officers responded to the 1500 block of C Street NE for the report of sounds of gunshots. Officers located an adult victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the body. The victim was transported to a local hospital in stable condition. A short time later, a second adult victim walked into an area hospital with a gunshot wound to the shoulder. The lookout provided was for 4 black males last seen fleeing northbound on 15th St NE in a white vehicle.

First District detectives are actively investigating this incident. If any member of the public has information or video of the incident, please contact the First District Detectives Office at (202) 299-2025, or the Metropolitan Police Department’s Command Information Center at (202) 727-9099.”
