Elysian has brewed over 350 craft beers since the brewery opened in 1996, and has been a pioneer in the craft-brewing movement throughout the Pacific Northwest. On Monday, October 20th, seven City Tap House draft lines will be dedicated to Elysian’s popular pumpkin beers including Night Owl Pumpkin Ale; The Great Pumpkin Imperial Pumpkin Ale; Dark O’ the Moon; Punkuccino; The Lost Abbey Sardonic Pumpkin Dark Wit; The Gourdfather, as well as Hansel & Gretel. Prices range from $6 to $13.

Additionally, City Tap House has purchased a 250-pound pumpkin from Nalls Farm Market in Berryville, Virginia, which will be hollowed out, filled with beer, and tapped just like a keg for this special night.

“Just two moths after the debut of their first beers, Bardo [1200 Bladensburg Rd, NE] is introducing another wave of brews, bringing the total number of beers on tap to thirteen. Black sour, imperial brown ale, imperial IPA and a dark IPA, as well as dry hopped versions of the imperial IPA and the black IPA will be tapped Thursday, Sept 25th.

Bardo is extremely excited about the debut of the GABF bronze medal winning, imperial IPA, Dremo Tibetan Sasquatch. “Dremo started as one of our cult favorites. It gradually became less of a secret and evolved into our flagship beer.” commented Bardo Brewpub’s Andrew Stewart. “It has been the number one question we have fielded since pulling the brewery out of storage, ‘When is Dremo going to be ready?’.”

Dacha Beer Garden will be kicking off Oktoberfest 2014 this coming Saturday, September 20th. Doors will open early at 11am with “Angezapft ist” — “It’s tapped!” — the cry that goes up every year when the Lord Mayor of Munich hammers a spigot into the very first keg of Oktoberfest beer.

It’s going to be a gorgeous day. We encourage folks to get there before 2pm when the crowds generally come rolling in.

Starting Saturday through the end of Oktoberfest, Dacha will be serving Weihenstephaner Oktoberfestbier and staff will be wearing full lederhosen and dirndls. We’ll be raffling off prizes, hosting some amusing contests, and serving up special beer cocktails.

Oktoberfest beer will be included on our happy hour menu (Mon-Thurs 4pm till 7pm, $5 singles and $10 for boots) until the end of October.

As always – we’ll have traditional brats, ‘kraut and pretzels – for those looking for an authentic German experience. However, we’ve also introduced new kabobs on the menu that are pretty damn delicious. Marinated beef, lamb and pork skewers served with grilled pita and a cucumber salad.”
