We have tried a number of ways to find a “new normal” in the tasting room while maintaining a safe environment for our guests and staff, but have come to the tough decision to close the tasting room for the time being. We will continue to brew our award-winning beers for distribution to our retail partners as long as we are permitted.
So, instead of making a special trip to the brewery during these uncertain times, we would be grateful if you would support us and other local breweries by visiting the beer aisle the next time you go to the grocery store for essentials or order a couple of six-packs & variety packs from your liquor store to enjoy at home. On Monday afternoon, DC Mayor Muriel Bowser announced that starting at 10 PM, all restaurants and bars in DC would be temporarily closed for dine-in service. Old Europe is of course, no exception, so in order to ensure you can still get your German food fix, we are shifting to DELIVERY AND TAKEOUT SERVICE ONLY.
At the moment, the restaurant will be open for orders from a limited menu from 11 AM until 8 PM. As we announced in the previous email, delivery through us is FREE now with no minimum! Thanks to Raymond for sending. Looks like Rockville closed March 1st. Did Navy Yard also close March 1st? And I just confirmed over the phone – they closed permanently in Navy Yard on Sunday too. If you go to Gordon Biersch’s website there are no locations listed for D.C. (and the Rockville on is gone too.)
