Not since Marvin closed has there been a more painful closure coming to U Street (adjacent.)

“After 15 years of serving up unforgettable drinks and unforgettable moments, the Gibson will be closing its doors on 14th Street on January 1st, 2024

After opening in November of 2008, the Gibson quickly became a pioneer in D.C.’s cocktail scene. Hidden behind a signless door, the bar offered classic drinks in a discreet and sophisticated setting. Its second-floor bar and lounge became the “it-spot” for private events and cocktail classes.
