I’m still digesting yesterday’s news about Pines of Florence returning to DC…
If you had the power, besides Marvin and Millie & Al’s, what favorite restaurant/bar/store would you bring back from the dead?

Yesterday we learned that the Matchbox in Cathedral Commons had closed. Props the Yellow Liner who guessed correctly: “My guess would be Makers Union, since that’s been expanding locally, including a location that was going to be a Matchbox at the Wharf. I could see a gastropub doing pretty well in that location, though I would much prefer something that’s less corporate, less chain-like, and more committed to quality.”

“Dear PoPville,

We ventured to Millie’s over the weekend and the vibe was great, but it wasn’t Metro friendly and took us an hour to get there. Hoping someone has a recommendation for a Metro friendly bar airing the US Open…that also hopefully has decent wine, bar food and like minded tennis fans.” (more…)
