Small update on The Ministry Coffee and Wine Bar that we first learned about back in September 2017. The liquor license placard says:
“A new Tavern and cafe serving coffee, sandwiches, pastries, small plates and artisanal cocktails. Seating capacity of 55 inside. Total Occupancy Load of 150. Sidewalk Café with 20 seats. License will include an Entertainment Endorsement.”
Updates as they get closer to opening.

I’m hoping I can find some feedback and direction with an issue that has been eating at me.
I was really excited that a Bluestone Lane was coming to DC (I always make a pit stop at one when I’m in NYC). The DC location is attached to the West End library. I have gone a few times. It’s delicious.
My general understanding of public libraries is that they provide a critical free resource to the community, namely a safe *free* learning environment. In the times I’ve spent in DC libraries, I’ve also noticed that people experiencing homelessness can find a little reprieve in these buildings. So here’s my issue: (more…)

“joe and the juice at Vermont and K (1500 K St NW) is open. They told me they opened yesterday during the snow, but things were very slow. It appears to be a soft opening. They don’t have drip coffee yet (but can make you an Americano, called a “joe”.) Very cool place inside.”
