“Chef Michael Rafidi announces a May 30 opening for Yellow, a cafe and bakery with Levantine roots, located within his Navy Yard restaurant, Albi, at 1346 4th Street SE. The carryout cafe will be open Wednesday-Sunday from 9am-3pm, offering a taste of the Levant for breakfast, lunch, and all-day coffee. Chef Gregory Baumgartner, who oversees pastry at Albi, also leads the program at Yellow, which merges classic French technique with Middle Eastern flavors. “The Tryst Trading Company has announced it will now offer carryout with limited menu options and household pantry items at its flagship restaurant, Tryst.
The CEO and Owner Constantine Stavropolous explains the priorities in safety and putting a limited staff back to work. “The health and safety of our staff is our first priority. Like many DC restaurants, we temporarily closed our restaurants in March. While it was a heartbreaking decision, we remained optimistic about reopening our doors in a safe and responsible manner. Our team members have been incredibly patient as we worked to reopen our doors.”
Guests can access the limited menu items and household pantry staples from Tryst’s website. Household pantry item orders will need to be placed in advance, and items can be picked up at Tryst from 8 AM- 3 PM daily. (more…)

Thanks to Andy for sending: “This location at 3122 M Street, NW has permanently closed according to the manager. They removed all products earlier this week. The location at 34th and M will remain.”
Like Fado the reasons were likely not all Covid related as we’ve noted many Starbucks closures around town last year.
