Just happened to notice these guys on a weekend walkabout but can’t find anything about them online. Were they open before the madness hit? If so anyone take a taste? They’re located on the Vermont Ave just north of K Street in the building also home to Ramen and Pho on the third floor and Thai on the 2nd floor. (more…)

Ed. Note: Last week we learned that the Starbucks at 15th and I St, NW had closed. The large Starbucks in Chinatown at 7th and H St, NW closed back in September 2019.

1275 First Street, NE
In July we learned that Peet’s had permanently closed on 14th Street, NW just south of U Street and in Penn Quarter. Back in June we posted about the new Navy Yard spot closing too.
Evan reports: “I walked over and there’s a sign on the door now that says the closure is temporary, but the employee yesterday seemed to think otherwise.” (more…)

Thanks to Stuart for sending: “It’s papered over and removed from the Starbucks website. Last time I had passed, it had one of those “We’re open!” Banners. Of course there’s still one open right across McPherson Square.”

Update: “Alright DC, we can finally say it: DOORS OPEN WEDNESDAY, 8/26 at 7am!! and we cannot wait to meet you!”
Back in October 2019 we learned that Boston’s Tatte Bakery & Cafe would be coming to the former Meiwah restaurant, which closed after 20 years in May 2019. They’ll be opening the new space this coming Monday the 24th Wednesday the 26th. (more…)
