MPD Makes More Arrests (13, 15, and 17 year old suspects) in Metropolitan Branch Trail Robberies

Ed. Note: Yesterday we learned that MPD had arrested a 14 and a 13 year old suspects for robbery on the MBT on Thursday April 24th.

From MPD:

“The Metropolitan Police Department announces the arrests of three juveniles in connection to multiple robbery offenses in Northeast.

On Wednesday, April 30, 2025, shortly before 6:00 p.m., Fifth District officers responded for a report of a group of juveniles snatching headphones from victims on the Metropolitan Branch Trail. Officers canvassed the area and with the assistance of MPD’s Helicopter, Falcon One, multiple suspects were located and placed under arrest. Stolen property was recovered.

“The Metropolitan Police Department announces the arrest of two suspects involved in a robbery that occurred on the Metropolitan Branch Trail in Northeast.

On Thursday, April 24, 2025, at approximately 3:45 p.m. the victim was walking on the trail near Rhode Island Avenue, Northeast when they were approached by multiple suspects on bicycles. (more…)

On Sunday, March 16th, between 1:30 AM and 2:00 AM, my boyfriend was hit by a red sedan while biking home from work. The driver fled the scene.

📍 Location: 12th St NE (between G St & Maryland Ave, Washington, DC)
🚴 Victim: A dedicated cyclist, commuting home from his restaurant job

“DDOT’s Program to Give Eligible District Residents up to $1,500 for E-Bike Purchase Returns”

“The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) announces the return of the successful District E-Bike Incentive Program that helps District residents—particularly of low income—purchase an e-bike using a voucher worth as much as $1,500.
