Just completed a 15.1 mile walkabout in our fair city and I can conclude that everything is fine, is awful, is amazing, is deeply depressing, is incredibly hopeful, is hopeless, is magnificent, can improve, has improved so much, has declined, is on the rise. And don’t let anyone tell you different.

Thanks to Lisa for sending from Hill East.
Really wearing their heart on their sleeve as it were.

“Dear PoPville,
Something he saw in North Korea?

Banners with Trump’s picture hung on federal buildings…? 24 Abrams tanks and Howitzers in the streets of DC…? 7,000 U.S. troops housed in government buildings…? (more…)

“A person with a cockatoo on their shoulder gives the middle finger to a motorcade of some sort.”
“Dear PoPville,
Is anyone else in Dupont and AdMo completely losing their minds with the motorcade sirens every 5mn? This really has to stop. There’s no good reason to have 60 sirens blaring to escort one empty bus to pick up people at DCA for Police Week.”

Thanks to Robert for sharing this dumpster fire with us from Saturday in the 900 block of N Street, NW.
DC Fire and EMS making quick work of it: (more…)

K. spotted the unfortunate sight above on Sunday:

Thanks to B. for sending from Capitol Hill.
It had been 35 days since our last stolen wheels report(s). You can see some MPD suggestions on ways to prevent a Helluva Way to Wake Up here. You can read a Witness Describing a Wheel Theft here.

What is this, the Villages?!?
Thanks to T. for sending this golf cart, Maryland license plates, from around 20th and P Street, NW in Dupont Circle.
Anyone else ever see a properly tagged on golf cart on the roads before?
