“4 gunshots in Navy Yard.” 9:45pm Saturday Night “Juvenile apprehended”, Gun recovered.

“Dear PoPville,

4 gunshots in Navy Yard. Apparently an earlier fight at one of the bars among the drunk patrons. I’ve seen 2 sitting down passed out young people. I saw at the same time several young women trying to fight more (it was stopped by respective friends). Just a messy St, Patrick’s weekend night in a lot of ways. Tons of police were on scene quickly.”

From MPD: “MPD officers quickly apprehended a juvenile after the discharge of a firearm around 9:45 p.m. Saturday near First and M Street, SE. A firearm was recovered. No injuries occurred.”

National Weather Service: Tornadoes possible Monday

“⚠️For Monday, the Storm Prediction Center has upgraded the area to a Moderate Risk of severe t’storms. Damaging winds (some with gusts up to 65-75 mph) and a few tornadoes (locally stronger) are possible.” (more…)

“Emergency Repairs Completed: Flow Restored to Potomac Interceptor. DC Water Marks Massive 55-Day Effort, Outlines Next Steps for Rehabilitation and Environmental Restoration”

From DC Water (March 14, 2026):

“After 55 days of extraordinary effort with crews working around the clock, DC Water has successfully completed emergency repairs and returned the flow to the Potomac Interceptor to mark a major milestone. The wastewater rushed back into the pipe today, and bypass pumps were turned off, as a large crane lifted the steel bulkhead gate that had been blocking flow for the repairs.

Soon after the bypass pumps were turned off, the flow in the C & O Canal quickly dropped as the wastewater that had been diverted around the collapse site drained from the canal. Crews immediate began work on the environmental rehabilitation of the canal. The initial cleanup will involve flushing it with freshwater from the Potomac River, followed by debris clearing, mucking, and removing contaminated soil. (more…)

“🚨BREAKING🚨 GROUND STOP CURRENTLY AT THE FOLLOWING AIRPORTS:

⚠️ Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA)
⚠️ Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD)
⚠️ Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI)
⚠️ Richmond International Airport (RIC)

@FAANews is working to address the source of a strong odor coming from Potomac TRACON that is impacting operations at the three airports.

UPDATE: The ground stop is over and operations have resumed.

Firefighters from Fauquier County and Prince William County confirm there is no danger to air traffic controllers, and they are returning to the Potomac TRACON. The source of the strong odor was traced to a circuit board that overheated, and it was replaced.
