From a press release:
“Marv’s Dogs, the long-awaited new concept from Cork Wine Bar owners Diane Gross and Khalid Pitts, will officially open in Tenleytown on Wednesday, May 13. The nostalgia-driven hot dog shop is inspired by Diane Gross’ childhood memories of getting hot dogs with her father, Marv. The restaurant’s signature “Marv’s Favorite” pays tribute to those experiences with a classic Chicago-style hot dog topped with secret relish, onions, pickle, peppers, and celery salt on a potato poppyseed bun.

The menu also reflects Pitts’ Detroit roots with the “Coney Island,” a Detroit-style dog topped for a limited time with Ben’s famous beef chili sauce onions, and mustard. Additional menu offerings include the NY Classic with house-made sauerkraut and spicy mustard, Diane’s favorite MOPDOG with mustard, onions, and pickle, a veggie dog, skinny French fries, and desserts including Honey Vanilla Soft Serve and Malted Milk Chocolate Soft Serve with house-made magic shell flavors as well as Milkshakes with rotating flavors, Cork Dark Chocolate Chip Cookies, and espresso brownies.

Marv’s Dogs features seating for 35 guests inside plus additional patio seating. The space features a fun downstairs space complete with arcade games, further leaning into the throwback spirit behind the concept. Marv’s Dogs will also offer beer, wine, seltzers, and a variety of cool canned soft drinks to complement the menu – think root beer, orange soda and even Shirley Temples!

“We’re so excited to become part of the Tenleytown community and create a neighborhood spot that people come back to again and again,” said Gross. “Marv’s is meant to be simple and fun, a place to grab a good hot dog and hang out for a bit. Hopefully it has something for everyone and becomes a place where folks create new memories of their own.”
“Hot dogs are one of those foods that are tied to memories of where you grew up,” added Pitts. “We wanted the menu to reflect that with styles and flavors that meant something to both of us personally.”
Every hot dog at Marv’s Dogs is served on a potato poppyseed bun, with menu inspirations spanning Chicago, Detroit, New York, and classic American hot dog stands.
