A reader reports: “I was woken up at around 1:30 am last night by what sounded like machine gun fire, very rapid, close together shots (could just be automatic weapon). Anyway, caught these pics of our corner as emergency services was pulling up to the 13th and V, 4 blocks from the 3rd district station and 1 block from what everyone knows is an open air drug market.” (more…)

It’s now happened multiple times – a marching band down 13th st on a Wednesday night. Any idea what’s going on?”

Another reader asks: “do you know anything about the marching band / parade in NW today around 7 pm? i saw them on 11th between R and S. it made my day.”

I’m guessing it’s practice for the annual United House of Prayer Memorial Day Parade.
