A reader passes on the alert from the Department of Justice (Wednesday):

“At approximately 8:30 am this morning, a DOJ contractor was walking outside of the Foggy Bottom Metro stop during his morning commute to the Bond Building. The contractor was struck by an assailant and continued to be assaulted until he was on the ground. (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

I’ve been to Ft Totten Transfer Station, and they told me DC doesn’t accept shingles. I’ve been scouring the internet and can’t find out what to do with my small batch of shingles from the demolition of the backyard fort I built for my kids some years ago. Any thoughts or info?”

“Dear PoPville,

On Monday evening, my husband stopped off at a friend’s house after picking our kids up from daycare on his e-bike (a white Lectric Xpedition 2.0 with black infant seat on the back). In a momentary lapse of caution, he left the bike unlocked in front of our friends’ house in Brentwood for about 15 minutes while he brought the kids inside to say hi to their friends.
