A reader passes on the alert from the Department of Justice (Wednesday):
“At approximately 8:30 am this morning, a DOJ contractor was walking outside of the Foggy Bottom Metro stop during his morning commute to the Bond Building. The contractor was struck by an assailant and continued to be assaulted until he was on the ground.
A transit authority officer was able to intervene and restrained the assailant until local law enforcement arrived and arrested the individual. The contractor believes this may be classified as a hate crime as the assailant was shouting antisemitic comments during the attack.
Our contractor suffered injuries to his head, face, and body, and has received medical attention. Follow up reporting indicates he is doing well physically, but remains shaken by the incident.”
