“Dear PoPville,

In a long shot, I am wondering if you could help me find the contact info for the person who runs this small Petworth community garden (see triangle above.)

I’m really interested in joining this community garden, but I never seem to catch anyone there!”

Meet Bruno – The Snuggle Pro in Training!

🐾 Age: 6 months | Weight: 30 lbs (as of 1/20/25)
🐾 Personality: Playful, Affectionate, Quiet, Snuggly, Eager-to-Please

We do talk about Bruno! Fresh from Puerto Rico, this little charmer is ready to snuggle his way into your heart. He’s a pro at cozy cuddles, sweet kisses, and napping right by your side. Not a fan of cold weather? No worries—a cute sweater turns him into a winter adventurer!

Bruno is quick to learn and nearly house trained. He’s great with kids, loves other dogs, and has already figured out how to follow the lead of his foster’s dog. He’s well-mannered at the dog park and makes friends easily.

At just 30 lbs and not expected to get much bigger, Bruno is perfectly sized for city living. With his gentle, playful spirit, he’ll be your favorite couch buddy and adventure partner in no time.

If you’re looking for a sweet, affectionate companion, Bruno is your boy. Apply to meet him today!

Meet Mcanne – Your New Furry Best Friend in the Making!

🐾 Age: 2 years
🐾 Breed: Domestic Shorthair (DSH)
🐾 Personality: Friendly, Independent, Chatty

Mcanne isn’t just a cat—he’s a conversationalist with opinions on everything. His charming chirps and meows make him the perfect co-host for binge-watching your favorite shows or simply hanging out at home. His foster mom is convinced he’s part philosopher, part comedian (if only she had a kitty-to-human dictionary!).

This dashing boy strikes the perfect balance between independent explorer and affectionate companion. He’s happy to entertain himself with a good window view but never says no to head scratches or cuddle time. Mcanne’s got just the right amount of energy—he’s fast enough to chase his favorite laser dot but chill enough to curl up afterward like the lounge king he is.

If you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind feline who’ll keep you smiling with his playful antics and endless “conversations,” Mcanne might just be your purr-fect match. Apply to meet him today!

Update from NPS:

“The National Park Service (NPS) is striving to ensure the long-term sustainability of the Rock Creek Park Horse Center. While NPS and Guest Services, Inc. (GSI) are in discussions about the possibility of GSI stepping away from its concessions contract, no decisions or timelines have been set. The Horse Center remains open, and we are actively exploring future operational options to ensure it continues to serve the community. We understand the importance of this facility and will provide updates as more information becomes available.”

“Dear PoPville,

I’m not sure if you are tracking but DoD is going to work in office on Monday for those who live within 50 miles of there office. It would be interesting to see when everyone else in DC is going back in office to include outside government. Those that live outside have a couple of weeks to report. Navy Yard and Pentagon metro stations will be packed on Monday.”

“Dear PoPville,

Senator Mike Lee and Representative Andy Ogles have introduced legislation to Repeal DC Home Rule:

Today, Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) and Rep. Andy Ogles (R-TN) introduced the Bringing Oversight to Washington and Safety to Every Resident (BOWSER) Act in the Senate and House, named after District of Columbia Mayor Muriel Bowser. In response to the mayor and city council’s failure to prevent violent crime, corruption, and voting by non-citizens, the bill would repeal the District of Columbia Home Rule Act one year after passage. Congress has the authority to manage the nation’s capital according to Article 1, Section 8, Clause 17 of the Constitution. Rep. Andy Ogles (R-TN) is the lead sponsor of the bill in the House of Representatives.

“The corruption, crime, and incompetence of the D.C. government has been an embarrassment to our nation’s capital for decades,” said Sen Lee. “It is long past time that Congress restored the honor and integrity of George Washington to the beautiful city which bears his name.”

“The radically progressive regime of D.C. Mayor Bowser has left our nation’s Capital in crime-ridden shambles.” said Rep. Ogles. “Washington is now known for its homicides, rapes, drug overdoses, violence, theft, and homelessness. Bowser and her corrupt Washington City Council are incapable of managing the city. As such, it seems appropriate for Congress to reclaim its Constitutional authority and restore the nation’s Capital. The epicenter of not only the United States Federal Government but also the world geopolitics cannot continue to be a cesspool of Democrats’ failed policies.”
