Mysterious Man Outside The Quarry in Adams Morgan Attempting to Force His Way In:

“This morning I was accosted by a man outside my apartment building in Adams Morgan trying to force his way in, claiming to be a maintenance worker. I’m sure he is who he said he was, but I refused to let him in the building because I didn’t understand why he wouldn’t have a key fob or a code to get in if he was indeed employed to do maintenance on the building.

He tried to push me out of the way, questioned my authority, put his foot in the door and refused to take it out of the way, and then proceeded to verbally assault me, calling me a “cunt” and a “stupid bitch”. I closed the door on him and left him outside the building without letting him in because I had to go to work.

I am posting this here not for the sympathy or the kudos, but just to let you know that, no matter who you are, IT’S OK to stand your ground against creepy people.

Sure, I was probably putting myself in a lot of danger, but to me the risk of what he could possibly do to the building and/or the many single young women that live in my building was greater.

Please, for the love of god: DO NOT let people you don’t know into any locked building. They are locked out for a reason.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
