  • This is sad. The picture of this man in his garden reminds me of my grandfather. Rest In Peace, Mr. Jones.

  • No matter what they find out, this is horrifying and so, so sad. I can’t imagine the anguish of his family.

  • I am so, so sorry to hear this. My heart goes out to Mr. Jones’s family. I hope that his passing was peaceful, but I”m also sad that he wasn’t located quickly. As a community, as a country, we need to do a much better job of valuing and taking care of our elders.

PoP — thank you for posting this update.

  • This makes me very sad. He looks like a proud, intelligent man who would have been fun to know. DCist says that he was the former chief warden of the DC jail, which tells me that he was a pretty accomplished man.

Also, thank you to the PoPville commenters for being more respectful than the DCist commenters.

  • 🙁 RIP Mr. Jones.

  • I am saddened to hear this news. It looks like Mr. Jones was into gardening? Very cool. Let’s remember his passions and interests and remember him in that way. My condolences to Mr. Jones’s family and friends.
