There was also a police alert on Dec 17th of a robbery at gunpoint at 600 Kenyon St. NW…
Which happened at about 9:30 am:

It’s 1/2 block from the Morton Street projects. It’s a regular in the daily 3D police list serve report.
Interesting that the suspect was in his 50s.
If you’re not able to say unequivocally that that is “wrong,” there’s something seriously wrong with you.

Plenty of response in the form of squad cars and EMS on my walk to the bus stop this morning. Noticed DCPD 3D car jetting east on Kenyon from GA (Against 1-way) at maybe 06:45 followed by many others.
Unfortunately I can’t recall seeing any vehicle matching the description, but I did notice an abnormally large amount of foot traffic compared to normal morning hours like this. Hopefully someone saw something and can help out.
I wouldn’t be surprised, as reactive in nature as people are, to see less advancement in the area / cab service due to the rise in thefts and presense of deadly weapons in the area that has seemed to spur as of late. I can notice new developments creeping east from Columbia Heights with the reshapring of Sherman Ave and Business on GA, but if things don’t get better, perhaps the developments will slow as you get further from the seemingly most secure confines of Howard U.
