The Craigslist ad says:

“The Delano Apartments, 2745 29th Street, NW – 2BR $2450. Enjoy classic Art Deco charm with modern amenities in a bright, spacious 2 bedroom unit with great closet space: granite counters, maple cabinets, a dishwasher, and a separate dining area. On-site amenities include a valet dry-cleaning service, cable/high speed internet, a roof deck, a 24-7 fitness room, secure bike storage, and parking. The Delano is just a short walk to the Woodley Park Metro Station and Downtown via the Red Line, and it’s close to Cleveland Park, Adams Morgan, and DuPont Circle galleries, restaurants, and nightlife. Love the outdoors? Visit nearby Rock Creek Park and National Zoo. Sorry, no pets.

Parking discounts are available with immediate leasing! Are you a student? Ask about our student special!”

I’m intrigued by the student special. Does $2450 sound reasonable for a “huge 2 bedroom” in this location?

  • Taking the nice location into consideration, and as long as it’s in good shape, I think it’s a very good price. I believe the Delano is a Best Addresses building, as well.

  • Student special? At this price range, what does that mean exactly?

Does it include heat, air, electric?

On a split, this puts per person monthly bill, with utilities, north of $1,300.

The parking, however, is a plus as long they aren’t charging extra for it.

  • It f*cking pisses me off when ads call something huge without listing a sq footage. I’ll decide what’s huge and what’s not myself thankyouverymuch!

  • I spent a long 4 days in the Delano back in the mid 90’s when my buddy left a party I was at there with my car keys in his pocket and hopped a flight back to SanFrancisco…did I mention I was living in NC at the time….and had to wait for my friend to land in SF and mail the keys back to me…

  • I live elsewhere on that block and I’m not sure. Could be higher than others around there but maybe worth it. Need to know the square footage, if parking is included for two cars and if it’s climate controlled and secure with a remote door opener for each car. Heat and electric included? Check rents at the other buildings on that block including the one facing Woodley Rd and at the corner of 24th and Calvert St. Also find out if noisy college students live there on one semester rotations and what the rent increase policy is.
