The flier says:

“You can expect A gem of a house waiting to be renovated! 6bdrms/4bths, 2homes now into 1, Grand proportions, finished basement/au pair suites, multi car prkng, 2 decks, Original detailing thru-out, Hardwoods, sky-lit stairwell, back yard & more. A designers dream in the heart of Columbia Heights. Currently tenanted, but notified. Bring your investors!”

You can find more info here but sadly no inside photos.

I think I once featured this property as house of the day. I think it looks awesome from the outside but had no idea the inside was a fixer upper. I’m always curious how much houses like this are going for. I think the location is pretty ideal but does $875,000 sound reasonable for a fixer upper?

  • What an odd house!
It looks like a purpose built 2 or more unit house.
Hard to make it out as a single house.
I don’t like it for that reason. It is confounding.

  • However (that’s me above) if you remove one of the doors (make it a window) and extend a deck across the whole front it would be pretty good. AND HUGE!
875 plus probably at least 200K to make it nice. Not sure the neighborhood could support the price, put it is possible.

  • For $875k you be a FIXED upper!

  • Post should have read:

“For $875k it should be a FIXED upper!”

Apologies! I was trying to be cute and went through about 4 iterations of smart-ass comments, but dropped the ball!

  • Where does it say this is a fixer upper? It sounds quite finished to me…

  • Waiting to be renovated=Fixer upper.

  • Since the lister is kind enough to not provide any interior pics: I would guess that this was essentially two condos, 1st; 2nd floors. Otherwise, it’s a little difficult to split a bay window down the middle.

$875 seems a little excessive, even if it has the benefit of not backing up onto CHV & is a wide unit. It does appear to be finished, so perhaps it’s not such a reach.
