It’s been a while since I’ve stopped by Union Station, didn’t realize the Bojangles closed. There was great excitement when we first learned Bojangles was coming back in 2010 (a lifetime ago, a question we asked in that post “Do you think anything will ever go into the old movie theater space?”)

H&M opened in the former Barnes and Noble space in Union Station back in 2013.

Alas not all is festive at Union Station. Magnolia Bakery’s website says:

“On Monday, October 12th between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM, Arm in Arm DC organizers will host an action to protest both the current Union Station redesign plan and the continued recognition of Christopher Columbus through the name Columbus Circle and the Columbus statue outside of the station. We will also be conducting a voter registration drive during the protest.”

“Looks like another location is set to open, super close to the Butter Chicken Company 2 location on H Street, at the old Duet location (601 2nd St NE) rather than Masala Art as previously thought. Also now appears on their website along with coming soon 4 (Dupont) and 5 (Bethesda) coming soon!”

“Metropolitan Police Department, US Capitol Police, and Amtrak Police officers and detectives are investigating a shooting that occurred at Union Station. The victim has been transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries and a suspect has been stopped. There are closures in the bus deck area and bus travelers may be delayed.”
