“Please return the snow shovel and broom.

The shovel is my neighbor’s and she kindly let me borrow it. I lent it to you when we both had to move our cars because DC issued two tickets on the day of the snowstorm.

Apparently U St is an “emergency snow route” yet there is no signage on the block where we parked.

Please drop it off at…”

Thanks to Marie for sending from Glover Park.

I don’t know how they penetrate the ice but I love it!!

I feel like this is going to be a BANNER YEAR for ‘Last Christmas Trees in Town’ – always a silver lining here at PoPville :)

Last Christmas Tree in Town is brought to you by the Friends of the White Whale Society.

Note: You too can now rep your last christmas tree in town t-shirt!

Rodman and Connecticut Ave, NW. Virginia plates. Been there for days. Plow had to go around it…

I guess it’s simply to icy for tow trucks to operate or DC doesn’t have enough tow trucks? I get one day or even two but this is day four like this.

“An act of collective altruism took place this afternoon outside Teaism in Dupont Circle. An SUV got stuck in the haphazardly plowed roads across from the tea house, its wheels spinning out as it tried to breach a small snow bank. A few folks tried to get the car moving, unsuccessfully. Then, in a flurry, a group of employees from Teaism filed out front, one by one, adorned with aprons in place of winter coats, and helped propel the car to freedom. The district may not have the perfect infrastructure to deal with the inundation of the winter storm, but DC’s citizens prove once again that they’re able to face unexpected challenges, together and head-on.”

And thanks to Sue for sending below from Cleveland Park: (more…)
