We learned back in August that this great new restaurant name was coming to 17th and R Streets, NW. While not open yet, I just noticed they put up this sweet new sign. I still can’t believe how hilarious that name is…

Simply awesome.

I liked this series of “Good Hope” signs from PoPville flickr user DG-rad taken from Good Hope Road, SE.

I don’t know about you guys but the thought of walking a labyrinth would not quiet my mind, it’d drive me crazy looking for a way out. Or am I taking this too literally…?

Due to the holiday it’s been a while since we’ve had a caption contest. I thought the contrasting expressions on these two faces was pretty funny. Your caption in the comments and winner announced Friday.

And with the addition of this sweet section of their sign, I have nothing more to add to Park Road’s newest Peruvian Chicken spot, Senor Chicken…
On a totally unrelated note, man Sunday was beautiful and I realized while I’ve admired Rock Creek Park before, I’ve never appreciated the actual creek. It is looking fantastic:

Back in October we learned that two crepes spots were coming to 14th Street. Make it one. On Saturday I noticed a sign went up saying that the space at 14th and S, formerly Garden District, is for lease. This is where crepes on the corner was supposed to be. I hope Point Chaud to be located at 1736 14th Street, NW still comes. I really think crepes will work in this location, though one spot is probably sufficient.

Back in October we learned that DC was trying to get Clear Channel to voluntarily remove these billboards at the corner of 4th and P Streets, NW. At the time we learned that Clear Channel refused and filed a lawsuit. I noticed that the signs were still up. But what I thought was particularly interesting was that if the “District Government” was trying to get these sign removed – does it make sense that they would use one (even for a good cause)?

On such a dreary rainy day, we can all use a laugh. Thanks to Jeff Vitkun who found this on a deli in Arlington.

People have noted how tasteless the red paint spatters are on this sign. I guess they had a tough time recruiting as the building is for lease.
It’d be a great spot for a coffee shop…
