“With the start of the 2024 Paris Olympics less than two weeks away, the District’s Alcoholic Beverage and Cannabis Administration (ABCA) is reminding the community that eligible establishments and venues will be able to operate 24 hours and have extended hours for entertainment and alcohol sales during designated periods that will cover the 2024 Summer Olympics (July 26-August 11), the 2024 Paralympic Games (August 28-September 8), as well as Dine All Night (September 19-29). and Art All Night (September 27-28). A reader passes on the alert from the Department of Justice (Wednesday):

“At approximately 8:30 am this morning, a DOJ contractor was walking outside of the Foggy Bottom Metro stop during his morning commute to the Bond Building. The contractor was struck by an assailant and continued to be assaulted until he was on the ground. (more…)
